Email of the day
After much heartache, I need to let
all my dear friends know about my new position in the war on terror.
I hope our friendship is not in jeopardy but as a combat vet and
“numbers guy” I can’t ignore the facts any longer. This morning I
received an email that put it all into perspective for me. If you love
this country as much as I, you should pass this on too!Running
statistics, I’ve decided it is time to pull out! There have been an
average of 160,000 troops stationed in Iraq during the last 22 months.
During this time the firearm death total was 2,112 for a firearm death
rate of 60 per 100,000. The rate in Washington DC is 80.6 per 100,000.
This means that you are more likely to be shot and killed in our
Nation’s Capitol, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in
the nation, than you are in Iraq. Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C
Sorry guys, Had you going though right? Happy Tuesday

That is a scary stat. I wonder how school shootings factor into it. In Toronto there’s about 50-60 murders a year — but one school shooting and that could easily be 20-30 people in itself…
“Some people use statistics as a drunken man uses a light post: for support rather than illumination.” — but it’s alright in your case as you’re using it for humour :p
Oh, you’re evil. You had me there for a second. I’m cool with the “agree to disagree” thing.
